Tow Plane

Yesterday I spent a day at a flying club with some friends. Here's the tow plane they used to pull up the gliders. It usually pulls the gliders up to 2000 feet and then the glider pilot releases the rope. From there the gliders are free to do whatever they want, if they are lucky enough to find rising air they can stay up for hours.

I submitted this photo to jpg magazine. Vote for it if you like it.
